This week is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Antibiotics Awareness Week. Although antibiotics are inexpensive, but are among the most valuable treatments around for fighting infection. Unfortunately, antibiotic resistance is on the rise. While antibiotic resistance has existed since ancient times, in the modern world antibiotic resistance may costs the world economy as much as $3 trillion.
